What is BRIJ 35 (Polyoxyethylene Lauryl ether)?
Brij 35 (Polyoxyethylene Lauryl ether) is a non-ionic surfactant consisting of polyoxyethylene lauryl ether. It is soluble in water and organic solvents and has a mild, neutral odour. Brij 35 can also be used as an additive or modifier in chromatography. It is effective in eluting strongly adsorbed proteins in thiophilic interaction chromatography. Brij 35 markedly enhances the fluorescence of various dyes and compounds with biochemical or pharmaceutical importance. It is also applied as additive in enzyme assays and in chemiluminescence analysis.
